Crane Counseling Services was founded on the passionate belief that everyone should have at least one place they can go where they do not feel judged and do not feel they are "on" while at the same time challenged to grow. Located in North Haven and now serving all of Connecticut via telehealth and in-person.
Crane Counseling Services provides therapy for men and women experiencing depression, anxiety, complex grief, trauma related symtoms, challenges in relationships, and career related traumas experienced by first responders, military, medical professionals, as well as other high stress industries. We also work with adolscents who experence anxiety, low self esteem, and trauma related symptoms. Crane Counseling offers EMDR and can work with clients who have a current therapist but want to focus on trauma via EMDR.
Founder, Jennifer Crane
Jennifer Crane, known for her warm and approachable disposition, she is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, trained in EMDR, domestic violence and sexual assault response, M-TREM (Men’s Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model), and complex grief. Jennifer also specializes in couples and families with a variety of presenting issues. She understands, from personal experience, the complexities of balancing family, work, life and the constant pull from all of these responsibilities. Jennifer served as the Director for the Newtown Center for Support and Wellness, a mental health referral agency in Newtown. During this time she worked closely with social services, Newtown PD and other municipal deparments. Prior to Newtown, Jennifer has worked at private and public universities where some of her responsibilities included integral roles on behavioral intervention teams, and responding to a wide array of mental health emergencies. Her experience also includes working in Miami, Florida with court mandated families; helping families to navigate reunification and assisting after significant family crisis, and clinical work in Monroe, Connecticut serving children, individuals, couples, and families. Jennifer has extensive experience working with college students, young adults, and working professionals struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, self-esteem, and managing difficult life transitions.
